EARLY MORNING MEDITATION COURSE
at St Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation and Peace, Bishopsgate


8.10 - 8.50am
SIX WEDNESDAYS, 24 SEPTEMBER - 30 OCTOBER 2008, and further six week course 5 NOVEMBER - 10 DECEMBER 2008

Meditation is an effective way to start the day with a clearer and more open state of mind. A regular meditation practice can help to relieve stress and promotes insightful self-development and wellbeing.

This six week course will introduce Mindfulness of Breathing, Metta Bhavana (loving kindness) and Walking meditation. The practices themselves come from the Buddhist tradition. The course welcomes people of all faiths, or none.

Newcomers to meditation are welcome.

Cost: £48.00 per six week course

The Mindfulness of Breathing and the 'Metta Bhavana' (Loving Kindness) will be taught each week, alternately.

The door will be attended from 7.15 and will be locked and unattended after 7.28, so please don't be late!

ALL WELCOME. Special offer: Free classes 5 August for people giving up smoking!

These friendly Sunday drop-in classes will give an experiential introduction to two meditation practices, the Mindfulness of Breathing and the 'Metta Bhavana' or Loving Kindness meditation. One practice will be taught each session, with space for questions. You are welcome to come to both. Newcomers to meditation welcome.

Introduction to mindfulness-based stress and pain management led by Vimalachitta

Pain and stress are an inevitable part of life and can seem overwhelming. We all have the inner resources to deal with them, we just need a little help. Then we may find that the most unwanted challenges hold the key to a new dimension of healing. The meditation and tools you will learn are straightforward and accessible, but have the power to totally transform our experience not only of pain and stress, but of life.

Open to anyone suffering from stress, chronic pain or wanting to develop a greater sense of healing in their life.
